Pittsburgh Public Schools announces four additional closures, citing COVID cases

Citing a rise in positive COVID cases, Pittsburgh Public Schools announced Friday evening that it was closing four schools until Jan. 21. 

The district said Pittsburgh Arsenal, Pittsburgh CAPA, Pittsburgh Concord PreK-5, and Pittsburgh Woolslair PreK-5 would transition to remote learning after those schools reached a threshold of 5% case positivity. 

CAPA performances scheduled for tonight and tomorrow are canceled, the district said. CAPA auditions planned for Saturday, Jan. 15 will be rescheduled.

Meanwhile, Pittsburgh Brookline PreK-8 and Pittsburgh South Brook 6-8 are closed through Jan. 20 .

Pittsburgh Public Schools updates its list of closures

Earlier this week, PPS announced additional closures across the district, which will reopen for in-person instruction on Tuesday, Jan. 18.
