The Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh announced Friday the appointment of a new president of North Catholic High School.
Joseph Wilson, 48, was appointed to lead the Cranberry school by Bishop David Zubik on behalf of the Catholic High Schools of the Diocese of Pittsburgh member board.
“I am confident that you will continue to build upon the fine tradition of excellence that has always been a hallmark at North Catholic High School,” Bishop Zubik wrote to Mr. Wilson in an appointment letter. “May the Lord, in His goodness, continue to bless you as you begin this new role.”
Mr. Wilson, an alumnus of North Catholicl himself, received his undergraduate degree from Duquesne University and his Master’s of Science in Public Policy and Management at Carnegie Mellon University. Since 2003, Mr. Wilson has been a business manager at North Catholic.
“As a proud alumnus I am incredibly honored to accept this tremendous responsibility,” Mr. Wilson said in a statement. “North Catholic has always had a special place in my heart and I look forward to continuing to build on the legacy of this great institution.”
Mr. Wilson’s new responsibilities will include development and fundraising, as well as financial management. North Catholic’s current principal, Michael Palcsey, will continue to manage day-to-day academic affairs.
Mr. Wilson will begin the new role Monday.
