The University of Pittsburgh has suspended the Phi Kappa Theta fraternity after a report of hazing.
Pitt received the report last week and placed the fraternity on “Interim Loss of Privileges--New Member Education” status. After gathering more information, the school decided to suspend the fraternity, pending further investigation.
“Our policies and expectations have been made very clear to our students,” the school said in a statement. “We encourage all students to reflect on their involvement in our fraternity and sorority community and their organization’s commitment to a culture that values excellence and the well being of its community members.”
The university also provided a link for students to report hazing anonymously at http://police.pitt.edu/anonymous-tip-line.
