Candidates for Pittsburgh school board to participate tonight in public forum

The 10 candidates running for the Pittsburgh Public Schools board will participate in a “meet the candidates” public forum Tuesday night. 

The event, hosted by Great Public Schools Pittsburgh, will be held at the Carnegie Library in Homewood from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Great Public Schools is a coalition of local groups including the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers, One Pennsylvania, the Education Rights Network, the Pennsylvania Interfaith Impact Network, SEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania and SEIU 32BJ.

The forum will introduce the candidates running for the four contested seats on the city school board during the May 21 primary election. All candidates are expected to participate, according to a press release.
