Truck severely damages Fayette County post office during police chase

A truck slammed into and through the wall of a post office in Fayette County during a police chase early Tuesday morning, Post-Gazette news partner KDKA-TV reported.

The crash happened just before 1:45 a.m. at the Vanderbilt post office on Liberty Street. The driver fled the scene, firefighters told KDKA.

The crash left a large hole in the front exterior of the building. Crews at the scene also told KDKA the building was not structurally sound.

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating. They were not immediately available for comment.
