Pedestrian hospitalized after hit-and-run in North Versailles

A man was injured Wednesday night after being struck by an SUV in North Versailles.

Allegheny County Police said it happened about 8:40 p.m. at the intersection of Greensburg Pike and Hyer Avenue.

First responders arrived and the victim was transported to a hospital in critical condition, police said.

According to police, a dark colored SUV struck the man before fleeing the area.

Allegheny County Police on Thursday evening said 28-year-old Keontae Hamilton was charged and authorities recovered the damaged vehicle in Wilkinsburg. 

He faces numerous charges, including failure to stop and render aid.
