One man was shot and killed and another was wounded late Friday in Homewood, authorities said.

Police responded to reports of a shooting inside a home in the 7200 block of Mt. Vernon Street just after 11:30 p.m., according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.

They found a man who had been shot in the back. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The medical examiner identified him as 27-year-old Therreus Lindsey of Homewood.

Another man was taken to the hospital in critical condition. 

Two people were taken to police headquarters for questioning, and police were seeking to get a search warrant for the house, authorities said.

The investigation is ongoing.
