Man dies after crashing into construction equipment in Monroeville

A man died in a vehicle crash early Saturday in Monroeville.

Allegheny County Police said 37-year-old Michael Berkley’s vehicle collided with construction equipment parked alongside the 4200 block of William Penn Highway just before 1 a.m.

First responders took him to Forbes Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses told county police that Mr. Berkley was traveling at “a high rate of speed” before he crashed.

An investigation continues.
