Two minors arrested, one wanted in fatal New Kensington shooting

Police have arrested two minors and are looking for another in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred Sunday afternoon.

The victim has been identified as Jason Raiford, Post-Gazette news partner KDKA-TV reported. Mr. Raiford was found at a housing complex Sunday around 2:30 p.m. 

Westmoreland County dispatch confirmed that New Kensington police were called to the 1100 block of Fifth Avenue.

Police from multiple departments worked to arrest two minors on felony gun charges, according to the news station.

Additionally, an arrest warrant has been issued for 14-year-old Amir Kennedy, of New Kensington. He is being charged with criminal homicide and possession of a firearm by a minor.

“This is a horrible tragedy for Mr. Raiford’s family and friends and Westmoreland County at large,” Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole Ziccarelli said in a statement.

This investigation is ongoing.
