There, first responders found a man — identified later as Benjamin Dixon, 33, of Edgewood — who had been shot several times. He died on the scene; the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office determined he was killed by gunshot wounds to the torso an that his death was a homicide.

Investigators determined that Robert Lawson-Johnson, 26, of North Braddock, was the person responsible for Dixon’s death. Mr. Lawson-Johnson was taken into custody and charged with homicide and firearms violations.

Police continue to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to call the county police tip line at 833-ALL-TIPS (833-255-8477). Callers can remain anonymous.
