Juvenile male hospitalized after Sheraden shooting

A juvenile male was taken to a hospital after a shooting in Sheraden on Wednesday night.

Pittsburgh police responded to a ShotSpotter alert for shots fired on the 300 block of Minton Street just before 8:45 p.m.

When they arrived, officers found a juvenile male victim with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Pittsburgh public safety officials say he was then taken to a hospital in priority condition.

A residence on the 3000 block of Merwyn Avenue was also struck by gunfire, officials said, but the residents inside were not injured.

Officials said that one other juvenile male was also taken to police headquarters for questioning.

The investigation is ongoing.
