Authorities identify man killed in Swissvale shooting

A 31-year-old man who died Thursday night after being shot in Swissvale has been identified by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Kellyn Toliver died from gunshot wounds after being taken to UPMC Presbyterian, the medical examiner’s office said Friday morning. He was pronounced dead at 7:06 p.m. 

Authorities responded to the 2000 block of Noble Street around 6:26 p.m. Thursday. Police said they searched the scene and found Mr. Toliver nearby in the 7500 block of Center Street.

The Allegheny County Police Department is investigating his death as a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.

A motive for the shooting and information about potential suspects was not immediately available.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the county police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS.
