New Castle police have filed homicide charges against a Lawrence County woman in connection with an October shooting that killed three people, including a 10-year-old girl.
Jody Hammer, 41, of New Wilmington, had already been charged with obstruction of justice in relation to the case.
New Castle police said investigators learned that Ms. Hammer planned the robbery that led to the fatal shooting with Steven Procopio, 19, of New Wilmington.
Mr. Procopio, as well as Anthony L. Cooper of Detroit, had already been charged with homicide in connection with the incident.
Police said Mr. Procopio and Mr. Cooper shot and killed Nichole Pumphrey, 31, her daughter, Amariah Emery, 10, and Lawrence Cannon, 31, on Oct. 16 at Ms. Pumphrey’s home at 819 W. North St.
About 11:45 a.m. Friday, police arrested Ms. Hammer, who was out of jail on bond from the obstruction of justice charge.
Ms. Hammer was charged with three counts of homicide as well as conspiracy and hindering apprehension.
She was placed in the Lawrence County Jail without bond and was scheduled for a preliminary hearing Dec. 28.
