Pittsburgh River Rescue Thursday evening recovered the bodies of two men just miles apart from each other, officials said.
It was unclear if there was any connection between the men.
Rescue crews responded about 6:20 p.m. for a report of a body in the Monongahela River. They found the body in the water near Highmark Stadium in Station Square.
A short time later, River Rescue received another report of a body at the mouth of Chartiers Creek, which flows into the Ohio River between Esplen and McKees Rocks. They recovered the body of the other man there. The Allegheny County medical examiners office identified the man as Daniel Walker, 59, of McKees Rocks.
The body of the man found in the Monongahela River has not been identified.
A Pittsburgh police spokesman said it was too early to determine how the men died.
The investigation continues.
