Firefighter injured while battling flames at Westmoreland County sheet metal business

A firefighter was injured while working to put out flames at a Westmoreland County business Tuesday morning.

Post-Gazette news partner KDKA-TV reported that the fire broke out Tuesday at Hutchinson and Gunter Inc., a sheet metal fabricator, early Tuesday morning. The business is located in Hempfield, just outside Greensburg.

The firefighter who was injured was taken to a hospital and is expected to be OK, KDKA reported.

Fire crews were able to put out the flames Tuesday morning. They told KDKA that the size of the Hutchinson and Gunter building along Grove Street, as well as the rainy weather conditions, made their job a little more difficult than usual.

The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze.
