Firefighters battle house fire in Derry Township

Firefighters spent several hours battling an overnight house fire in Derry Township, Westmoreland County.

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette news partner KDKA-TV reported the home on Pizza Barn Road caught fire just before 3 a.m. Thursday.

There were people inside the structure when the fire started, KDKA reported, but they were able to escape.
