A section of eastbound Interstate 70 in Washington County was reopened Friday around 1:30 p.m. after being closed for five hours as crews removed a tractor-trailer that crashed into a guide rail.
The closure affected motorists heading eastbound from Donegal to Somerset. A detour rerouted motorists off the Dunningsville Exit to Route 136, which connects to Route 917, and back to Interstate 70.
The accident occurred Thursday around 2:30 p.m. between the Dunningsville and Ginger Hill exits.
While the scene was cleared and the road reopened to traffic Thursday, it was shut down again Friday at 8:30 a.m. to allow a wrecking crew to access the crash site and remove the tractor-trailer.
A Pennsylvania State Police official said there were injuries, but couldn't confirm how many.
No further information was immediately available about the crash.
