A flood watch has been issued all of southwestern Pennsylvania as rain continues through Friday.
The watch is in effect from 6 p.m. Thursday until the same time Friday for Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Washington, Westmoreland, Greene and Fayette counties.
A low-pressure system will spur moderate to heavy rain later today through early Friday, according to the National Weather Service. About 1½ to 3 inches of rain could fall, causing widespread flooding.

The mild weather and high temperatures are expected to linger through the weekend and into the President’s Day holiday. Today’s high will reach into the lower 60s — warm but still below the record set in 1954 at 69 degrees. And it’s expected to stay well above freezing over the next few days. Monday’s high is forecast to top 57 degrees, the weather service says.
There’s a moderate chance of snow Saturday night, when temps dip into the 20s.
