A flash flood watch has been issued for southwestern Pennsylvania as thunderstorms move through the region Friday and linger Saturday.
Pittsburgh and surrounding areas are forecast to receive 1 to 2 inches of rain from the storm system, according to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh. Some isolated areas could see heavy rainfall, leading to flash flooding.
The flood watch is in effect from Friday morning through Saturday night for the following counties: Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Washington, Westmoreland, Fayette, Greene, Armstrong, and Indiana and stretching eastward into Central Pennsylvania.
The high temperature Friday is expected to reach 77 degrees with a mild wind in the afternoon, the weather service forecasts. The high Saturday will be around 72.
Then Sunday looks like a nice day with sunny skies and a high of 78 forecast.
