Rescuers have freed a worker from a collapsed trench in Butler County this morning.
County emergency officials said the man was trapped for several hours.
The collapse was reported about 8:15 a.m. on Marburger Road in Forward, southeast of Evans City, according to officials.

The trench collapsed while the worker was digging a sewer and the man was covered up to his waist in mud, they said.
A medical helicopter was called to the scene as well as a trench rescue team from Butler and Beaver counties.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Pennsylvania state police are investigating.
