Moon man held in hit-and-run death

Police charged a Moon man today with homicide by vehicle, drunk driving and other offenses in the hit-and-run death of a Penn Hills man along Route 65 in Leetsdale early this morning.

Shontelle Harvey, 41, was being held in the Allegheny County jail in the death of Charles Britt, 67.

Police in Leetsdale responded to a report of a pedestrian hit on the berm of the southbound lanes of the highway at about 3 a.m. today. They found Mr. Britt's car on the berm. He was lying dead next to it.

Witnesses described the vehicle of the hit-and-run driver and Sewickley police spotted it.
