Police search for 'armed and dangerous' suspect in Pitcairn double shooting

Allegheny County Police have obtained an arrest warrant for one of the suspected shooters they said critically wounded two people in Pitcairn Wednesday night.

Police on Thursday morning identified Gary Moore, 34, as one of the suspects. It is not clear how many shooter police think were involved.

Authorities responded around 7:10 p.m. to the 500 block of Merchant Alley following 911 calls about a shooting.

They found a male and female victim. Both were hospitalized in critical condition. Police said they are expected to survive.

Homicide detectives identified Mr. Moore as a suspect. Police said he is known to frequent Homewood and the eastern suburbs.

Mr. Moore is described as armed and dangerous. He is black, about 6 feet tall and 200 pounds. He was last seen driving a blue Dodge Durango with Pennsylvania license plate JHG 7693.

He faces charges of aggravated assault, attempted homicide and recklessly endangering another person as well as weapons violations.

Police said anyone who sees Mr. Moore or the vehicle should call 911 immediately.
