Three people were hospitalized Monday night after a fire broke out in the Allegheny County Jail, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.
At 10:30 p.m., Pittsburgh Fire was called to the jail for reports of smoke found in the building, officials said. Upon arrival, they located a small fire in a cell on the sixth floor.
Two guards and one inmate suffering from smoke inhalation were transported to the hospital in stable condition, police said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
