A Pittsburgh EMT was injured Monday when she was in a two-car crash involving the ambulance she was driving, police said.
The crash happened just before 2 p.m. at the intersection of Oakwood and Bennett streets, said Public Safety spokeswoman Cara Cruz.
The ambulance was headed to an EMS call at the time of the crash.
Ms. Cruz said two other EMTs who were in the ambulance got out on their own. The driver, whose hand and pelvis were injured in the crash, had to be extricated from the ambulance by first responders. She was in stable condition, Ms. Cruz said.
The driver of the other vehicle involved was uninjured, she said, and paramedics transported a passenger from that car in stable condition.
Authorities did not release any information regarding the possible cause of the crash or whether any charges would be filed. Police are investigating.
