PWSA lifts boil-water advisory for all Pittsburgh neighborhoods

The Pittsburgh Water & Sewer Authority announced Wednesday that a boil-water advisory issued Sunday for some city neighborhoods has been completely lifted.

The advisory was lifted Tuesday for four neighborhoods previously affected, but it remained in effect for six other areas while PWSA completed testing of water samples.

PWSA issued the advisory early Sunday after a power outage affected a pumping station, resulting in low or no water pressure.

The authority said it  could not get testing started until Monday in some areas because it could not get access to some homes to take samples. Water samples must come back clear of contaminants during testing on two consecutive days for an advisory to be lifted.
