Fire crews, EMS and police responded to a three-alarm fire on Mount Washington Wednesday afternoon, police said.
As of 4:45 p.m., the fire had been put out and fire investigators were the only units left on the scene, according to dispatch.
First responders were called to the fire in the 500 block of Griffin Street around 1 p.m., according to dispatch. Arriving firefighters observed smoke and flames in the lower part of the row house.
At the time, the residents were not home but firefighters discovered two cats in one home and a dog in another, none of which survived.
Police said the fire was raised to a three-alarms due to heat-related weather.
No individuals were transported to the hospital and no injuries were sustained.
