Due to a flood advisory issued for the Ohio River, the Mon Wharf parking lot will be closed Monday “until further notice.”
The Pittsburgh Parking Authority announced Sunday evening that because the Ohio River is forecasted to crest 20 feet early Monday morning, the wharf will be closed “as a precaution.”
Water begins to flow into the wharf when the river crests 18 feet; at 19½ feet, the parking lot is completely covered, according to the National Weather Service.
Additional parking is available at the Wood, Allies and Third Avenue garages, the authority said.
The Monongahela River Basin received more than two inches of rain over the weekend, which is what led to the Ohio River’s rising, the NWS said.
