An old Pittsburgh River Rescue boat partially sank outside the boathouse on the Allegheny River at the North Shore overnight.
Crews are still determining the exact cause, but Public Safety spokeswoman Cara Cruz said that it appears “high winds forced water into the hull … and the pump failed, causing the sinking.”
Pittsburgh experienced wind gusts over 40 mph Sunday, according to the National Weather Service office in Moon.

Two other operational boats, including a new boat, are parked inside the boathouse and are undamaged, Ms. Cruz said.
Crews began the process of removing the boat from the river around 4 p.m. Monday.
