Missing elderly woman from Morningside found

Pittsburgh police found a missing elderly woman from Morningside Tuesday morning after searching several hours.

Police said Beatrice Stapf, 83, was last seen at 8 p.m. Monday at 1217 Chislett St.

Police searched every street from Morningside, into Highland Park and East Liberty. She was eventually found around 6:40 a.m. in the 1600 block of Jancey Street in Morningside, where she had fallen outside, according to police.

She was alert and conscious and was transported by paramedics to UPMC Presbyterian for evaluation, police said.
