The city will host two community meetings to discuss the upcoming capital budget, the first of which is Thursday night.
Billed as “Pierogies & Potholes: Dinner and Discussion on the 2020 Capital Budget,” the forums will “offer residents a space to learn about the city’s capital budget, discuss priorities with other residents, community leaders and city officials, share their ideas on budget priorities, and add their voices to the budgeting process,” according to a release issued by Mayor Bill Peduto’s office Thursday.
The first meeting will be held tonight from 6 to 8:30 p.m at the Children’s Museum, located at 10 Children’s Way in Allegheny Center. A second meeting is scheduled for the same time on Tuesday at the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers at 10 S. 19th St., in the South Side Flats.
Dinner is free, and on-site child care is available. Those interested are asked to register at http://pittsburghpa.gov/omb/cip/.
The capital budget funds projects that may include designing, building or maintaining city-owned assets. Past capital budgets for the city can be accessed here.
