Landslide impacts Allegheny River Boulevard

A landslide Tuesday has forced officials to shut down a portion of Allegheny River Boulevard between Lincoln-Lemington and Penn Hills.

Police and public works crews closed the road between Washington Boulevard and Nadine Road.

Outbound traffic from Butler Street will be diverted onto Washington Boulevard. Inbound traffic from Penn Hills will also be diverted.

It was unclear how long the closure would last, officials said.

Behind them, power cords run from an outside generator into the house and water bottles stack in the kitchen. The home and a few around it along 5400 block of Broad Street where they live was condemned and the utilities shut off after a landslide on Feb. 20th along the hillside behind the homes.
