Police searching for 'quiet loner' homeless man in Shaler Township

The Shaler Township Police Department is looking for help from the public in their search for a homeless man who was reported missing at the beginning of the year.

 

Daniel Smith is a 34-year-old homeless man who spent the last few years drifting around the Shaler Township area. He was originally reported missing to the Pittsburgh Police Department. He has family there and also in Philadelphia and New Castle.

According to police, Smith stands at 5’6” and weighs approximately 160 pounds. He has brown hair and eyes and has a beard and mustache. His distinguishing features are several tattoos – one depicts a dragon on his right chest. Another, the word “hard” is scrawled across his left forearm in all capital letters. On his right forearm: “Life is.”
