Pittsburgh’s Schenley Park Skating Rink will open for the winter season on Saturday, Citiparks announced Tuesday.
The rink on Overlook Drive will begin operations at 1:30 p.m., and skating sessions will be open to the public every day, according to Citiparks. Hours are posted on its website at citiparks.net.
Prices are $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $3 for youth ages 17 and younger. Skate rentals are $3; skate sharpening, $5.
Among the special events planned at the rink are Skate with Santa on Dec. 11; Mascot Skate, Jan. 6; and Valentine’s on Ice, Feb. 14.
Also Tuesday, Citiparks announced the summer season’s last sessions for several farmers markets in the city. The East Liberty market at Station Street and North Euclid Avenue will host its final session from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday; the South Side market at 18th and Carson streets, 2 to 6 p.m. Nov. 21; the Carrick Dairy District market, 1529 Brownsville Road, 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday and again Nov. 22; and the North Side market at East Ohio Street and Cedar Avenue, 2 to 6 p.m. Friday.
