The Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania confirmed today the first "pip" — the first sign of an impending hatching — at 9:53 a.m. The egg in the Hays nest was laid 36 days ago putting the pip right on schedule.
The society explained in a news release that it can be a long process until the eaglet finally emerges.
There are three eggs currently in the Hays nest. The Harmar Bald Eagles are also sitting on eggs in their nest.
