The Caren Glotfeity Meadow at Hartwood Acres was transformed by Nancy Byrnes of Nancy Byrnes Events into a chic summer evening venue Saturday for the Allegheny County Parks Foundation’s Twilight Picnic for the Parks. She was able to capture the essence of the surrounding natural beauty and put it under the large white party tent for the more than 400 supporters to enjoy.
“We are thankful for the generous support of Twilight Picnic for the Parks, especially this year as we honor the legacy and achievements of County Executive Rich Fitzgerald and his tremendous support for the parks,” said Joey-Linn Ulrich, the foundation’s executive director.
“This beautiful evening under the stars, now in its sixth year, has raised over $2.6 million that goes towards improving and conserving the nine Allegheny County parks.”
The music of Buffalo Rose, a six-piece Americana band, entertained guests as they enjoyed picnic fare catered by the Fluted Mushroom. Mingling were event chairs Shelly and Dan Onorato, Sally and Will McCrady and Maris and Robert Dauer. Carol Brown, who was unable to attend, and Cathy and Rich Fitzgerald acted as honorary chairs.
Among those savoring a soft summer evening were Susan and Mike Boyle, Tom Armstrong, board chair Chip Babst, Linda and Jay Thier, Courtney Borntraeger, Tim McVay and David Bush, Sylvia Dallas and John Oliver, Kate Freed and Jack Brice, Ellen Still Brooks, Debbie Dick, Janet and Harris Ferris, Sally and Pat Getty, Caren Goltfelty, Barbara and Harry Henninger, Cynthia Carrow and Jim Kyper, John Mascaro, Pam and Ken McCrory, Ann McGuinn, Peggy and Steve McKnight, Jim Mitnick, Lisa Schroeder, Joe Milcoff, Cris and Alex Scott, Dave Short, Alice Snyder, Silvia and Alex Speyer, Dennis Unkovic, Sally Wiggin and Veronica and Charles Toran.
