SEEN: Family House Polo Match

The Place: The 36th annual Family House Polo at Hartwood Acres, Saturday afternoon

The Purpose: To raise funds and awareness for Family House. “We still draw 2,000 people to the field each year and I think the reason for that is people understand it is an important mission to support, “ said Family House executive director Jennifer March (with Charlie). “This event supports the mission of keeping room rates low for families who are traveling to Pittsburgh for medical care and need a place to stay. It’s also a great day of fun and there is no other event like it,” she added. The event also included an awards ceremony. The Chairmans’s Cup Award went to Dan DelBianco for his contributions and the inaugural Person of Inspiration Award went to Ryan Shazier (with Michelle) and The Muldoon Cup Award went to the Parishes of the Lower Allegheny Valley for their spirit of giving.

The Polo: Once again Howard Hanna Real Estate Services and #1 Cochran sponsored polo teams to compete in the 36th Family House Polo Match. The friendly rivals, Hoddy Hanna and Rob Cochran, had their cheering squads ready to go in their respective party tents, but this year it was the Cochran team that won the match. The annual event features more than just a polo match, boutique shopping, a silent auction, vintage cars and rows and rows of elaborate picnics surrounded the playing field. There were food trucks for anyone who didn’t want to bring their own and lots of activities, including pony rides for children.
