#RunforyourLife: The 14th annual Sneaker Bash to benefit Girls on the Run of UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital definitely kept the 150 guests on the move with a silent auction, a kayak raffle, a wine pull and a sneaker contest. The party also celebrated Jennifer Bails of Community Day School with the Coach of the Year award.

“Girls on the Run of UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is an affiliate council of Girls on the Run International, which has a network of over 200 councils across the United States,” said Molly Glowacki, program coordinator communications. “Our council was established in 2001 and has served over 15,000 third- through eighth-grade girls throughout eight counties [Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Lawrence, Mercer, Washington, Westmoreland and Venango].”

The mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using physical activity as a catalyst. WPXI-TV’s Jennifer Tomazic, also a GOTR coach, served as emcee. Local Musician Kelley Jeanne Colopietro entertained with her debut single “One More Mile.” Among those fInding their stride were Maya Gelman, Karen Baker, Callie Cahil, Ari Cort, Lauren Henzler, Kailey Hughes, Eric Kulikowski, Maria Larson-Edwards, Cindy McVerry, Lisa Morell, Lauren Rauscher, Alexa Walls. Also on hand were the winners of the three contest categories: GOTR Spirit — Melanie Harris, Flower Power — Jill Hamlin, and Sporty & Sparkles — Kathy Carns.
