34th annual Family House Polo Match held at Hartwood Acres

The Picnic: Hartwood Acres once again was alive with the sound of hooves and cow bells for the 34th annual Family House Polo Match Saturday afternoon. The benefit to support Family House, a place to stay for patients and families who travel to Pittsburgh for medical treatment, included pre-match festivities, picnics, pony rides, boutique shopping and, of course, socializing. Among those making the rounds were Family House director Jennifer March; board president Randy Struk; event chair Jeanne Vallano with her husband, incoming board president Al Vallano, event co-chair Melissa Whalen and Craig and Jill Tillotson.

The Polo: Team sponsors #1 Cochran Automotive with Potomac Polo Club and Howard Hanna real estate with Foxlease Polo Club set up tents next to each other as friendly competitors do. Steve and Helen Hanna Casey with Denny and Annie Hanna Cestra entertained friends and family as did Rob and Christine Cochran. Announcer David Andrews got things underway as the two teams took to the field, mallets flying.

The People: Among the nearly 2,000 spectators were Christina O’Toole with her daughter Jacqueline, Paul Gitnik and Gene Svrcek, Khristee Popowski, Bill Perry, Rick and Vera Purcell, Arlene Sokolow, Ryan Clagett, Katie O’Toole, Amer Kahwash, Eric Dorfman, Derek Antonucci, Michael Ford, Debbie Luffy, Audrey Zelkovic, Beth and Amit Grover, Annie and Gus Engel, Tom and Molly Hanna Long and Cathy Light.
