Lake Erie and tributaries (Erie County) Low, clear water and high angler pressure complicated the steelheading. Silver bullets were sighted in the first half-mile of the larger tributaries, but seemed to be waiting for the next rain to advance upstream. Single eggs and minnow imitations were most effective. Walleye were stacked at around 70 feet just west of the Ohio border. Thunderstorms were expected over the Erie area Sunday and Monday.
Tionesta Lake (Forest County) Muskies continued to go for big trolling plugs and spoons.
Allegheny River (Forest County) A good yellow perch bite was reported near the Sand and Gravel launch.
Shenango Reservoir (Mercer County) Panfish moved to the shallows to bulk up on prey before winter as the water cooled on this Panfish Enhancement program lake.
Kahle Lake (Clarion County) Largemouths, panfish and perch were taken during daylight hours. Catfish were caught at night.
Clarion River (Clarion County) Above Piney Dam, anglers caught walleye and smallmouth bass at dusk and dawn. Below the dam, smallmouths and walleye took soft plastics and crankbaits near the Allegheny River confluence. In the same waters, catfish took live cut bait at night.
Allegheny River (Armstrong County) Boaters netted walleye while trolling, and smallmouths were caught at tributary mouths. Shore anglers landed catfish.
Ohio River (Allegheny, Beaver counties) After dark, flatheads were everywhere. Cats in the 25-inch range and larger were boated at hotspots between the Beaver River and the Allegheny-Monongahela confluence. Scored 6-inch bluegills, fish heads, frozen trout and skipjack were the go-to baits.
Keystone Lake (Westmoreland County) Early morning kayakers tossing jerk baits found largemouths and smallmouths on logs and fish enhancement structures.
Conemaugh River (Westmoreland County) Float trip anglers caught smallmouths in isolated stretches above the lake.
Meadow Run (Fayette County) Anglers released trout taken i n the Delayed Harvest Artificial Lures Only section.
