Looking to elevate your game-day experience with some new eats? As the Steelers take on the San Francisco 49ers Sunday at Acrisure Stadium, Aramark, the stadium’s food and beverage provider, says “Game on!”
Thanks to a new, metric-driven culinary program called “Game Time,” fans can try three new menu items geared to brunch and late-night dining and check out a new restaurant concept called Heinz Stand.
Aramark is also introducing a grab-and-go Walk Thru Bru beverage concept similar to the one at PNC Park. It allows guests with a valid ID to pay for their beverages 10 times faster and creates shorter lines, according to the company, thanks to a Mashgin AI-based self-checkout system.
Acrisure will also boast two new express Steel City Classics locations powered by the same technology (Sections 515, 539) that will allow fans to select their favorite concessions and check themselves out with a touchless system, so they can quickly get back to the action on the field.
Wondering what’s new to pair with your beer or vodka spritzer? Or what might keep the kids happy? For chocoholics, the brunch-inspired Fudge Puppy Waffles ($9.99 in Section 129) will hit the spot. Handmade waffles are dipped in white chocolate and then topped with M&Ms and dark chocolate.
The new chipped ham grilled cheese sandwich offered for $14.49 in Sections 150, 215, 239 and 305, meanwhile, plays on nostalgia. A bit more sophisticated (and spicy) than the chipped chopped ham-and-pickle sandwiches on white bread many Pittsburghers grew up with, this sourdough sammy pairs the luncheon meat Isaly’s began offering in the 1930s with crunchy onion tanglers, fried jalapenos, cheddar cheese and barbecue sauce.
Speaking of barbecue, you’ll also find a new pulled pork sandwich ($12.05 in Sections 212, 236, 526), and you’ll probably need two hands to eat it; it comes piled high with coleslaw, pickles and crunchy potato sticks.
And for fans who like to stick to tradition? The new Heinz Stand restaurant concept in Sections 129 and 511 will offer a signature hot dog topped with grilled onions and shoestring fried potatoes ($6.79), an A1 cheesesteak ($12.55) and Pigskin Ponchos — house-fried potato chips, Cheez Whiz, ketchup candied bacon, green onions and fried jalapeños for $11.25.
