Move over french fries, Primanti Bros. is going with pierogies for its latest creation.
The Polish Hill sandwich, named after the Pittsburgh neighborbood which is just miles from Primanti’s original location in the Strip District, will be available starting June 8.
For the load of spud, instead of the signature french fries, the Polish Hill will be piled with Mrs. T’s Pierogies. Built between two slices of Italian bread, the sandwich would also feature kielbasa, provolone cheese, hot grilled slaw, beer mustard and tomato and Mrs. T Pierogies.
Primanti Bros. said that the Polish Hill is a great pairing between two iconic Pennsylvania brands. “If you like pierogies, you would like this sandwich,” said Toni Haggerty, manager at the Strip District location, adding that she has not yet tasted it.
“Having started our company only a short drive away in Shenandoah [in Schuylkill County], this Pennsylvania collaboration seemed like a match made in sandwich heaven,” said LeeAnn Smulligan, director of marketing at Mrs. T’s Pierogies, in a press release.
The Polish Hill will cost $8.69 and will be sold through mid-August.
