Pittsburgh Tech Council announces Tech 50 finalists

Pittsburgh Technology Council has released a list of this year's rising regional tech stars.

The Council will again honor the region's top tech CEOs and companies during its annual Tech 50 Awards ceremony, which kicks off October 29 at the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh, Downtown. This year's list comes with several new categories and a focus on innovation.

"We're always trying to make the awards reflect what's going on in the marketplace and in previous years we've gotten a lot of submissions in the innovation category," PTC’s Director of Visibility Jonathan Kersting said.

Awards for organizations with the best work environments is another new category. "A lot of companies are trying to develop awesome work cultures to retain these great employees so for the first time in 19 years we said we want to put a focus on companies making a good work environment.
