Breeze Airways partners with the Penguins for giveaway promotion

One of Pittsburgh’s newest airlines, Breeze Airways, is forming a branding and giveaway partnership with the Pittsburgh Penguins through the end of the season in collaboration with the Allegheny County Airport Authority.

Breeze has been giving away $50 vouchers of BreezePoints — its name for loyalty cash —  to service members spotlighted in the Penguins’ Military Salute during each home game at PPG Paints Arena since Nov. 23. The vouchers can be used for any of Breeze’s 12 nonstop flights from Pittsburgh, including to San Diego, New Orleans, and Charleston, S.C.

Breeze plans to give away a total of $1,550 in BreezePoints, said Breeze Airlines Communications Specialist Ryne Williams.

“We’re really big on supporting the communities that we offer service from, and this partnership with the Penguins is a great opportunity for us to really cement that in the Pittsburgh community,” Mr. Williams told the Post-Gazette.

Digital Breeze signage was also rolled out in November and is visible along the boards of the rink at Penguins home and away games broadcast on SportsNet Pittsburgh.

“We’re excited to partner with Breeze Airways and our Allegheny County Airport Authority as we welcome a brand-new terminal at Pittsburgh International Airport,” Penguins President of Business Operations Kevin Acklin said. “This new collaborative partnership will create elevated programming for our fans utilizing in-game giveaways as well as branded visibility on our SportsNet Pittsburgh network.”

Breeze Airways began service to Pittsburgh International Airport shortly after it was founded as a low-cost airline in 2021 by aviation entrepreneur David Neeleman. Earlier this month, the airline announced that it recorded its first full quarter of operating profit in the fourth quarter of 2024.
