Kopp Glass names Elie Saad as new president

Elie Saad has been named president and chief executive of Kopp Glass effective Dec. 1.

Mr. Saad succeeds Grant Wirth who led the company for 10 years and is retiring.

Mr. Wirth will remain chairman of the board.

Founded in 1926, Swissvale-based Kopp Glass manufactures custom glass for industrial, technical and commercial applications.

It employs 93.

Mr. Saad formerly worked at Germany-based Lanxess in a variety of leadership roles, most recently as head of corporate development at its North American headquarters in Findlay.

Prior to 2005, he worked at Bayer which spun out Lanxess as a separate company.
