UPMC Health Plan names new CEO, elevating an organization veteran to the top rank

UPMC Health Plan has named Mary Beth Jenkins as its new CEO, effective Jan. 1.

Ms. Jenkins will also assume the role of president of UPMC Insurance Services Division and become an executive vice president of UPMC.

She replaces the current president and CEO, Diane Holder, a 40 year veteran of UPMC, who is retiring at the end of the year.

Ms. Jenkins, the current COO, also has spent nearly her entire career with UPMC Health Plan.

“Mary Beth’s strong, strategic leadership has been a key driver of the Health Plan’s strong growth and outstanding quality awards for customer service and community outreach,” UPMC President and CEO Leslie Davis said in a statement.

A graduate of Slippery Rock University and Duquesne University, Ms. Jenkins has served on the boards of several local colleges, nonprofits and private companies, including Leadership Pittsburgh Inc., Health Fidelity, Carlow University and others.
