New $86 million switchgear factory coming to Beaver County

Mitsubishi Electric Power Products Inc., a Warrendale-based division of the Japanese firm Mitsubishi Electric Corp., has selected a site in Beaver County for its new $86 million switchgear factory.

The company announced in October that it was looking at building a new 160,000-square-foot facility in Western Pennsylvania.

That site turned out to be at the Turnpike Distribution Center, near the intersection of the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Interstate-376.

The facility will make circuit breakers and will create around 200 jobs, MEPPI said.
