Spirit Airlines will launch a nonstop flight to New York from Pittsburgh International Airport on May 8.

The ultra low-cost carrier will operate the seasonal service daily through October.

The flight will depart Pittsburgh at 5:48 p.m. and arrive at LaGuardia Airport in New York at 7:09 p.m. The return flight will leave New York at 3:21 p.m. and land in Pittsburgh at 4:48 p.m.

According to the Allegheny County Airport Authority, it marks the first flight by an ultra low-cost carrier to connect Pittsburgh and New York.
