Truck hits parked jet at Pittsburgh airport

A truck slammed into a parked Southwest jet at Pittsburgh International Airport Monday morning, injuring the driver and prompting the cancellation of the flight.

According to the airline, a Southwest provisioning truck "made contact" with a Boeing 737-800 jetliner that was parked at gate A1. The incident occurred just before 10:30 a.m.

Flight 157 was bound for Denver with 174 passengers and six crew members aboard. The plane was taken out of service after the incident. Southwest is working "to accommodate our customers to their destinations as quickly as possible," according to the statement.

The airline added it did not have any reports of injuries among those aboard the plane. However, the unnamed ramp agent who was driving the truck was taken to a local hospital. Southwest stated it did not have any further information to share about the driver's condition.
