Parking rates to jump at convention center and North Shore garages and some lots

Parking rates at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center Downtown and a garage and three surface lots on the North Shore are going up.

At the convention center garage, the 15 - to 24-hour rate will jump from $25 to $30. The 8- to 15-hour rate will increase from $14 to $16. For shorter time periods, the rates will rise by $2. The event rate will go from $12 to $13 for up to 15 hours. Monthly leases will increase from $275 to $295 and residential leases from $200 to $215.

For parkers at the adjacent 10th and Penn Avenue lots, the daily rate will rise $1 to $14. For events, it will increase from $12 to $13.

At the North Shore Garage at 20 East General Robinson Street, the 12- to 24-hour rate will go from $10 to $15. The 4- to 12-hour rate will increase from $10 to $11. For shorter periods, increase will be $1. The night and weekend rate also will rise by $1 to $6. Monthly leases will jump from $160 to $170 and monthly event leases from $250 to $300.

Parkers at Green Lots 21, 22, and 23 on Reedsdale Street and Ridge Avenue near Heinz Field are facing a $1 increase in the daily rate to $8. Monthly leases will go from $125 to $150.

The increases, approved by the Pittsburgh-Allegheny County Sports & Exhibition Authority board Thursday, are the first since 2014. They will take effect by the end of the year.
