Point Park University named Rep. Robert Matzie, a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, to its board of trustees. He will be serving a three-year term.
The University of Pittsburgh’s Swanson School of Engineering said Thomas Schutzius will join the chemical and petroleum engineering faculty as assistant professor.

Awards & Honors
The Manhattan Institute named Steve Shelton of the Trade Institute of Pittsburgh one of its $25,000 Civil Society Award winners for 2019.
Applied Cloud Systems, a Managed Gold Microsoft Partner focusing on the Microsoft Cloud was named Barracuda’s Cloud Partner of the Year. The award recognizes partners who deliver exceptional support for Barracuda and their product portfolio.
Youngjae Chun, associate professor of industrial engineering and bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh’s Swanson School of Engineering, received a funding award from the American Heart Association for his project creating a stent that will use sensors to monitor for signs of restenosis and alert the patient’s doctor without the need for endless follow-up visits. Mr. Chun’s project has been selected by the American Heart Association for its 2019 Innovative Project Award. The award includes a total of $200,000 over two years beginning on July 1, 2020. The project will be conducted through a multidisciplinary collaboration with W. Hong Yeo, assistant professor of Department of Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech, and John Pacella, MD, cardiologist at UPMC.
